FAQ
Prices vary based on a number of factors, most boiling down to time and materials. Rebinds start at $150 for more basic binds.
Custom Binds are only available to authors of Original Works (ie. No FanFics! Sorry!) Full Custom Binds are more expensive, as they require more materials for printing, plus time to hand-sew the books, plus typesetting, if needed. Custom binds start at $220 for books 600 pages or less.
No.
The books that I rebind have been lawfully purchased from retailers, such as B&N, Half Priced Books, or my local used books store, etc. It is unlawful for me to print books I do not have copyright to. I'm simply putting on a new cover, but all books are lawfully acquired and will remain just so.
The books I offer are strictly being rebound. That means they have been lawfully purchased, and no contents within the book are being changed. I do not own the rights to any of the content within the books, and the authors and publishers maintain those rights. Nothing within the text-block is being changed, and I do not claim to have written the works, the copy I rebind has been lawfully acquired.
Think about it this way - the books I am commissioned to rebind are not me selling the books themself. I am getting reimbursed for a book that I paid for, and then am simply charging for the time and materials it takes to essentially decorate the outside. Nothing on the inside is changing, and the author is still getting payment for the book.
Each book cover is created by yours truly, though down the line, I would like to be able to commission proper artists, or hey, if you have a design in mind, I'm happy to collab. I am by far not an artist - the design area is definitely not my specialty.
I use inspiration from the books that I'm rebinding to create something I believe represents the book. Covers are designed using Canva, Photoshop, or Procreate.
No. In short, a dust cover, like other merch, is a separate item from a book itself. Due to this, I do not feel comfortable selling dust covers, as I do not have the licensing to do so, nor the resources to print them or commission art. And as much as I love art, I am simply not that skilled. Perhaps down the road, I will be able to collaborate with authors and expand, but for now, this is what ya get!
